Matter generally has two attributes. These are mass and space.
Recall that matter is defined as anything that has mass and occupy space.
Before we look into the physical properties of matter, it will be a great idea if we understood what physical properties really are.
Physical properties can be defined as those features or characteristics on matter that can be measured without changing the composition of the substance or matter (or what the matter is uniquely made of). For instance, the physical properties of iron will be attributed to those features that can be seen and measured on the iron provided it is yet to go through a chemical change; (that is, provided the iron hasn't changed into a new substance through a chemical reaction).
Examples of physical properties of iron (in the above instance) will include its color, density, mass, boiling point, melting points, malleability, ductility and so on.
Note: The change associated with the physical properties of matter are referred to a physical change.

Since the extensive physical properties of matter has to do with the amount (or quantity) of substances, they become a measurable factor as a result. For this reason, the extensive physical properties of matter will include measurable quantities like mole, mass, density and volume.

They refer to the properties of matter that can't be measured, hence do not depend on the amount of substance. Examples are color, malleability, ductility, boiling point and melting point.

The solvent in solubility is always a liquid (usually water).
