Soil is the top layer of the lithosphere. (The lithosphere is the solid part of the earth). The topsoil is a home to a variety of living organisms including bacteria and fungi. It is also the layer on which farming activities occur.
It is important we protect the topsoil from soil erosion since this will adversely affect the farmers and everything living on it.
According to reports, the formation of soil take millions of years at a rate of 1cm of growth per 250 years.
Also, soil is non-renewable and once lost, it is gone forever.
Soil erosion is a process through which the topsoil is removed or moved from one point to another by agents like wind, water, man and animals.
Water and wind erosions occur naturally while that resulting from man and animals may be man-made. Erosion may also be facilitated by the actions of organisms dwelling on (or in) it.
Soil erosion is more likely to occur on a sloppy land and land with no vegetation cover. When this occurs, the nutrient rich layer of the topsoil is washed away. This ultimately results in fewer plants growing on such eroded soil.
Below are the common types of erosion
Water Erosion: It is caused by rainfall, poor drainage systems and flooding on the topsoil. As a result of water erosion, some layers of the topsoil are lost.
Sheet Erosion: When an entire surface of land becomes eroded at a uniform (equal) level, such is referred to as sheet erosion.
Wind Erosion: It results from the actions of wind on a bare land. Wind erosion is often seen in deserts. Overgrazing and lack of vegetation cover will also enhance wind erosion on topsoil.

Rill Erosion: Also called channel erosion, rill erosion occurs on a steep land or one that is gently sloped (with irregularities along its path). As a result of these irregularities, water runs through its path, leading to the washing away of topsoil along such path. This result in the formation of channels or 'miniature dongas' on such land.
Gully Erosion: They usually occur close to the bottom of a sloppy land with the resultant removal of the topsoil (from the formation of a concentrated runoff that has been caused by water or rainfall).
On a hilly land, a gully is likely to be formed when water running downhill creates a channel deep into the soil. As a result, a gully head may be formed at the lower end of the channel as it gently make its way back uphill. While doing this, the gully made on the hill deepens and widens. Below are characteristics of gymnosperms:
Their seeds have cones that protect them.
Sepals and petals aren't present in their cones.
Stigma and style are absent.
They do not produce fruits. Only seeds are formed.

The flower is the reproductive organ in plants' sexual reproduction. In order to achieve a successful sexual propagation or reproduction in plants, the floral parts of the flower are utilized.
The floral parts of a flower consists of the followings:
The stamen is male portion of a plant. It consists of the anther and filament.
The carpel (or pistil) is the female portion of the plant. It consists of the stigma, style and ovary.
An organism will be considered a pest if it does one of the followings:
Attack crops and eat its seeds, roots, stem, leaves and flowers. Examples are locust and grasshoppers.
Cause damage to stored food, fruits or other agricultural produce. Some may even urinate or deaficate on these products. Examples are rodents, cockroaches and mice.
Attack and kill farm animals like goats, sheep and cattle. Examples are foxes, wild cats and snakes.
Act as disease vectors. A vector is an organism that carries parasite and other disease causing organisms, without being affected; but when they introduce the parasites into their host, such host becomes infected with disease. Examples of vectors are rodents and mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, always understand that all crops are plants, and they are grown for food, money or something beneficial.
