Nigerian Acronyms and their Meanings:

Most often, when we listen to news, radio or television programmes, we may hear one or more acronyms used. It’s generally a smart idea when we are able to decipher the meanings of frequently used acronyms, especially as social students.

An Acronym is a abbreviated word that is formed from the first letters of a set of words.

For instance; African Union (a set of words) can be abbreviated to AU (first letters of the set of words - African Union).

AU can therefore be regarded as an acronym or abbreviation of African Union.

Different fields of study have got their respective acronyms, for instance we could have the followings:
